Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Overview
Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro - a beautiful repetition
The Chinese company Xiaomi still pleases its fans with almost a dozen bestsellers every year, but there are also many less interesting smartphones in its range. The hero of today's review is unlikely to become a hit, because in fact it is 90% a repeat of its predecessor and does not bring anything new to the old formula.
The appearance of the new product has become somewhat more relevant. Narrower screen frames with a built-in fingerprint scanner, attractive colors of glass back panels, and a modified block of photo modules are noticeable. The metal edging did not appear, but full moisture protection according to IP68 standards was preserved. The 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2772x1280 pixels provides almost flagship image clarity with its impressive smoothness. We must thank the 120 Hz refresh rate for this. There is practically no PWM effect, the color rendering is realistic, the peak brightness reaches decent values of 3200 nits. There is also a high-quality oleophobic layer.
The technical characteristics have not advanced much in terms of performance. The bundle of the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra CPU, 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM and the Mali G615MC2 video adapter gives about 700 thousand points in the AnTuTu test, so the performance of the HyperOS shell based on the Android OS is about the same level. There are no changes in games either. In resource-intensive Zenless Zone Zero, Fortnite, Genshin Impact, you can count on medium-high graphics settings and minor lags in rich scenes. The battery capacity has been increased to 7000 mAh, so autonomy can only be praised. You can really count on 10-12 hours of active screen time. Fast charging at 45W is not amazing, but it is not disappointing either. But the permanent memory is 256 or 512 GB without the ability to use MicroSD cards. The format of the ROM itself, unfortunately, is outdated.
The photo capabilities are not surprising. The 8-megapixel wide-angle lens should have been retired long ago, and the main 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 module is also found in cheaper opponents. Thanks to hybrid stabilization, it can be used even for capturing evening photos, but noise and blur will still be visible on them. The stereo sound is loud, but the bass is weak. Additional advantages include contactless payments NFC, IR port, support for 5G networks. Thus, a small number of improvements do not allow us to definitely recommend the phablet under consideration for purchase.
