Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 4 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 4 Overview
Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 4 - frantic power for modest money
The Chinese company Xiaomi remains one of those few smartphone manufacturers that can surprise even the most sophisticated user. Moreover, the developer does this with enviable consistency in literally all price categories of the market. So, the hero of today's review is rather in the middle price segment, but gives flagship performance and many other competitive advantages.
The appearance of the new product is strict, stylish, although it slightly lacks originality. Thin display frames around the entire perimeter, a fingerprint sensor built into the AMOLED panel, a neat block of two cameras, beautiful colors of the glass panel and even moisture protection according to the IP68 standard allow the device to look no simpler than its opponents. However, the presence of a metal frame and more expressive textures of the case would make the device even more interesting. The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen is unlikely to be criticized. There is no saving on image clarity with an impressive resolution of 2712x1220 pixels, nor on its peak brightness, exceeding 3200 nits. Sun rays have almost no effect on the visibility of the picture, the impression of which is made even better by natural color rendition, minimal PWM effect and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. At the same time, there is a high-quality oleophobic coating even on the complete protective film.
The latest MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor is truly amazing. The result of 1,800,000 points in the AnTuTu test suggests that the chipset performs no worse than last year's top Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while providing greater energy efficiency. Throttling is practically not noticeable even after an hour of gameplay in resource-intensive projects like Genshin Impact at maximum graphics settings. The gameplay is stable, without any slowdowns. The 6550mAh battery easily powers the device for about a couple of days, of course, there is also a fast 90W wired charger. There is no wireless alternative, which is explained by the price tag of the phablet.
The photo capabilities of the main 50-megapixel photo module from Sony (LYT600) with hybrid stabilization and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens do not reach those of full-fledged camera phones, but mobile photographers will definitely not have to be sad. Even evening photo sessions are not deprived of many small details, although noise is sometimes visible in them. The stereo sound is excellent, it is characterized by both a uniform frequency response and high volume. Support for 5G networks, NFC contactless payment, and an IR port add to the list of advantages, but the lack of a global version and, as a result, FDD-LTE B7 (necessary for the correct functioning of 4G in many countries in Europe and the CIS) cannot be considered an advantage. But if you can’t wait for the international configuration, then such a shortcoming will not particularly spoil the amazing device.
