ZTE Axon 31 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
ZTE Axon 31 Pro Overview
ZTE Axon 31 Pro - different numbers, the same essence
For a long time, the Chinese company ZTE has been in creative simplicity, which is why the range of products offered to it now is significantly inferior to that of Xiaomi, Samsung, Realme and other market leaders. The manufacturer definitely wants to compensate for the existing gaps, but his methods of achieving the result are unique. So, it is very difficult to find the differences between the hero of today's review and his predecessor.
The design of the novelty literally repeats the concept of the exterior of the previous phone. Of course, the combination of a rectangular block of four cameras, a glass back panel and a frameless screen with a built-in fingerprint scanner is still relevant today, but I would like to see at least minimal changes. In reality, only the selfie camera has changed. Now its place is taken by a 44-megapixel photosensor, capable of creating quite high-quality images even in the evening. The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen is still the same. But I don't want to scold the AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, because it boasts a refresh rate of 120Hz with its excellent brightness and contrast parameters. The oleophobic coating is also not forgotten, the PWM effect, which is harmful to the eyes, to which many buyers are susceptible, is almost completely eliminated.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB / 12GB of RAM and Adreno 660 video adapter - can you wish for better technical characteristics? No, but the cooling system of a hot enough chipset is not as efficient as it could be. During long gaming sessions in the most demanding projects (Fortnite, Genshin Impact), noticeable heating of the case and even throttling are manifested, resulting in insignificant drops in the frequency rate. Autonomy is quite average, the 4200mAh battery will have to be charged once a day with 6-8 hours of active screen time. But this process will take no more than 30 minutes. The volume of internal storage has been brought up to 128 / 256GB of UFS 3.1 format ROM , so the lack of a microSD card slot will not be a big problem.
The main 64-megapixel (main Sony IMX682 and wide-angle lens) modules, even without optical stabilization, will give hundreds of detailed photos and videos both day and night, but the auxiliary 5- (macromodule) and 2-megapixel (portrait sensor) cameras are close to the rank useless. There is no wireless charging, as well as protection from dust and moisture, but NFC contactless payments are left. The speakers will delight you with high-quality stereo sound, with which it will be more pleasant even to watch videos on Youtube. Thus, before us is not the most technologically advanced, but at the same time an inexpensive flagship, ready to conquer its audience. The only pity is that the sense of its release with the still sold thirtieth model is not great.
