ZTE Axon 60 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
ZTE Axon 60 Overview
ZTE Axon 60 - an unsuccessful continuation of the legendary series
The Axon series of smartphones from the Chinese company ZTE has always offered an excellent combination of functionality and a reasonable price. As a result, phones in the middle and high price segments were very popular. Unfortunately, the developer decided to radically change the direction of the line, and the changes cannot be called positive.
The appearance of the new product is ordinary for an inexpensive phablet. The plastic case is not devoid of ergonomics, but it is quite easily soiled and quickly becomes covered with scratches. The beauty of the exterior is given by a triple camera unit, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a barely noticeable peephole of a 32-megapixel selfie camera. But the wide frames of the 6.72-inch IPS display are unlikely to appeal to buyers. The screen is not amazing. Yes, it will not disappoint with the clarity of the picture thanks to the FullHD+ resolution, and the color rendition is quite correct, but the brightness reserve of less than 600 nits and the standard 60-Hz image refresh rate are unlikely to be a reason for delight.
The technical specifications are truly disappointing. The UNISOC Tiger T616 CPU, 6GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 video accelerator are found in much more affordable analogues. The combination provides performance of around 250 thousand points in the AnTuTu benchmark, which is enough for smooth playback of the Android 13 interface, but not for games. Resource-intensive projects like Honkai: Star Rail perform poorly even with minimal graphics settings. But as much as 256GB of permanent memory is allocated, although without support for MicroSD cards. There will be no strong complaints about autonomy, because the battery capacity has reached 5000 mAh. The battery needs to be charged once every two days; there is also relatively fast charging with a power of 22.5W.
The photo capabilities of the unit are not particularly outstanding. The main 50- and 2-megapixel photo modules without optical stabilization are not intended for evening photo shoots, and not all daytime photographs are distinguished by detail and the absence of blur and noise. Thus, the movement of objects in the frame significantly spoils the pictures. There are no stereo speakers, and NFC contactless payments have also been removed from the device. Thus, we have before us a statistically average and simply uninteresting device, for which finding an alternative is as easy as shelling pears.
