At one time, the Axon line of smartphones from the Chinese company ZTE was actually a flagship and pleased fans of the corporation with advanced technical characteristics, good photo capabilities, and sometimes interesting competitive advantages like a built-in headphone amplifier. But for some reason, the manufacturer decided to change its priorities. So, the new representative of the once excellent series now causes rather bewilderment.

The appearance of the inexpensive new product is unremarkable even taking into account its price tag. The case is made of not the most expensive and high-quality plastic, the display frames are wide, the design of the triple camera block is ordinary. The side fingerprint scanner and interesting colors of the monoblocks are trying to correct the impression of the exterior. Traces of savings are also noticeable on the IPS display. It has advantages in the form of a 120-Hz refresh rate and natural color rendition, but they do not compensate for the modest resolution of 1600x720 pixels for a 6.7-inch diagonal and a peak brightness of only 550 nits. The image clarity is low, and it is difficult to work with the gadget in direct sunlight.

The UNISOC Tiger T616 processor, 6 GB of RAM and the Mali G57MC1 video adapter cannot be considered a truly productive bundle. It can be found in noticeably cheaper analogs. It is enough to play the Android 14 interface, but more or less resource-intensive games can no longer be launched. The same Genshin Impact, even with minimal graphics settings, disappoints with numerous lags. You can play only the latest 3D projects like PUBG Mobile. 256 GB of permanent memory is allocated, there is also a slot for MicroSD cards. But what to store on such a volume of ROM is unclear. The battery capacity is 5000 mAh, from which the energy-efficient chip squeezes up to 2-3 days of active use. Fast charging with a power of 22W can only nominally be considered as such.

The photographic capabilities of the main 108-megapixel module from Samsung and 2-megapixel auxiliary sensors are definitely not top-notch. This is a basic level, sufficient for daytime photo shoots with good detail. Deterioration of lighting or increased dynamics of events lead to blurring, noise, errors in color rendering. There is no stereo sound, but there is a jack for wired headsets. But what is unpleasantly surprising is the lack of contactless payments NFC. As a result, it is simply impossible to recommend such a controversial gadget for purchase.
