ZTE Blade V40 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
ZTE Blade V40 Pro Overview
ZTE Blade V40 Pro - compromises that can be made
The Chinese company ZTE is closely monitoring the actions of its opponents. Although the once market leader today lags behind many competitors, it still has the potential for a comeback. So, the hero of today's review diligently copies Xiaomi and Realme products of the middle price segment, while standing out with a more attractive price tag. The developer had to save money in some aspects of the gadget, but the simplifications do not look critical at all.
The design of the novelty looks fresh and interesting. Although the back panel and edging are made of plastic, it didn’t come out too easily soiled, and it doesn’t collect scratches so quickly. The block of three cameras does not differ from that of modern flagships, and the narrow bezels of the 6.67-inch AMOLED screen are also pleasantly surprised. The display is noticeably better than IPS-analogues in terms of brightness and contrast levels, its other advantages are a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, a 90-Hz image refresh rate and an under-screen fingerprint sensor, which is rare for the price category. As for the PWM effect hated by many, the DC Dimming technology lowers its values and, as a result, the likelihood of potential discomfort in the eyes.
The technical characteristics fade slightly against the background of the previously given advantages, however, the use of the Unisoc Tiger T618 CPU, 6GB of RAM and the Mali G52-MC2 video chip can be explained. The cost of the chipset is modest, and the performance provided is enough for the Android 11 interface and for everyday activities. In addition, even the resource-intensive Genshin Impact is playable on the Android smartphone in question, however, only with minimal graphics presets. The energy efficiency of the processor is not high, but the manufacturer prudently increased the battery capacity to 5100mAh and provided it with fast charging as much as 65W . As a result, the battery is enough for a day and a half of work with devices, and the time spent at the outlet is reduced to 25 minutes. 128GB of ROM with the possibility of expanding MicroSD cards also deserve praise.
The photo capabilities of the main 64-, 5- and 2-megapixel photomodules also turned out to be quite good. Of course, auxiliary sensors are close to being useless and serve rather to give the exterior additional beauty, but these words cannot be said about the main camera. She tries to keep the detail of the frame and hints of natural color reproduction even when shooting in the evening. There is no stereo sound, as well as a separate headphone jack, which will upset music lovers. But it’s easy to attribute NFC contactless payments to positive qualities, which, coupled with a lot of other competitive advantages, make an Android phone a correct and useful purchase with excellent functionality.
