The Chinese company ZTE continues to make attempts to create an inexpensive folding smartphone that could attract an impressive part of the market audience. The first such smartphone did not become a huge success due to a number of serious simplifications of technical characteristics in comparison with ordinary monoblocks at the same price. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review almost did not correct the situation.

The appearance of the new product, of course, will be one of its main advantages. The beauty of the form factor itself is combined with a pleasant to the touch metal edging of the glass case, a neat block of two photo modules, a side fingerprint sensor, small frames of the 6.9-inch display and a stylish additional 3-inch screen. Both AMOLED panels have excellent image clarity at resolutions of 2790x1188 pixels and 682x422 pixels, are not deprived of a good brightness reserve of 2000 nits, realistic color rendition. But with the smoothness of the content, everything is ambiguous due to the standard 60-Hz refresh rate of the picture. There is an oleophobic coating, it is quite effective.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor (6 GB RAM, Mali G615MC2 video accelerator) is a new balanced chipset that evokes rather positive emotions. Yes, in traditional phones in the price category you can see much more productive analogs, but for the responsive operation of Android 14 it is enough, and resource-intensive games function without problems. Thus, the user can count on a stable framerate in Genshin Impact or Fortnite with medium graphics settings. In addition, the CPU heat generation is low, throttling is minimized. But the autonomy is not outstanding, because the battery capacity of 4310 mAh is far from record-breaking. You can hope for 7-8 hours of active screen time. It will take 70-80 minutes to fully charge the battery (fast charging at 33W). The internal storage is 128 GB, there is no slot for MicroSD cards.

What is really disappointing is the photo capabilities. The main 50 and 2-megapixel photo sensors are very simple, they do not even have optical stabilization. As a result, the detail of even daytime photos is lame on both legs, there are noises and other artifacts. At the same time, the 32-megapixel selfie camera is of high quality. The stereo sound is loud, clear, the bass is audible. The gadget also has contactless payments NFC, support for 5G networks, a gyroscope. Thus, the device turned out to be unbalanced, which is difficult to forgive given its not particularly modest price tag.
