ZTE Nubia Neo 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
ZTE Nubia Neo 5G Overview
ZTE Nubia Neo 5G is not quite a gaming smartphone
Phones for gamers are not the most affordable thing, because a top-end processor and its high-quality cooling simply cannot be cheap. However, not every fan of mobile electronics is able to afford expensive purchases. The hero of today's review, with its affordable price tag, is trying to disguise itself as a device for games, but in reality it is just a good and balanced representative of the middle price segment.
The appearance of the novelty turned out to be memorable. The design of the back panel is reminiscent of that of the Red Magic line thanks to bright, interesting colors. It also found a place for a dual camera unit. On the side is a fingerprint scanner. There is no need to talk about tempered glass or metal in the structure of the case, they have been replaced with polycarbonate. There is an IPS display on the front. Its frames are not very narrow, but still not very noticeable. The picture lacks brightness compared to that of AMOLED counterparts. The IPS-panel tries to atone for this shortcoming due to an impressive image refresh rate of 120Hz, FullHD + resolution, correctly configured color reproduction, and a responsive touch panel.
The selection of technical characteristics is really unusual. The CPU has become the latest and still rare UNISOC T820. A productive chip for the value category is combined with 8GB of RAM and an excellent Mali G57MC4 video adapter. The bundle scores almost 500 thousand points in the AnTuTu test, it has the ability to both smoothly play the Android 13 OS interface and run all modern titles. Undemanding projects will not disappoint with smoothness at maximum graphics settings, while resource-intensive Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail will require low-medium graphics presets. The chipset is not characterized by increased power consumption, so a 4500mAh battery will give you a day and a half of phablet functioning. The size of the internal memory is not limited to only 128/256GB of ROM, there is a microSD card slot.
The photo capabilities of the gadget are quite limited, but still far from bad. The 2-megapixel secondary sensor is not worth considering seriously, but the 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 main sensor retains the detail of daytime shots and videos without excess noise. There is a special night shooting mode, but it does not save the results of photo shoots from smears and other artifacts. The stereo sound is loud, but the speakers lack bass. Complementing the positive impression are contactless NFC payments, modem support for 5G networks. Thus, we have a device that is definitely worth buying, but you should not expect flagship performance from it.
