ZTE Nubia Red Magic 10 Air Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
ZTE Nubia Red Magic 10 Air Overview
ZTE Nubia Red Magic 10 Air - transition from the high to the mid-price segment
The Chinese company ZTE is expanding the range of gaming smartphones it offers. In addition to the annually released flagship models, the world-famous developer decided to create a gadget with a more affordable price tag. Taking last year's top device as a basis, the manufacturer slightly simplified the unit and, thus, made the hero of today's review. Are the chances of success for the new product great?
The appearance of the device is very stylish and memorable. There is an excellent set of colors for glass back panels for every taste, and a modest thickness of the case with a metal edging, and side touch trigger keys for comfortable gameplay and, of course, a frameless 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with an under-screen fingerprint scanner and a 16-megapixel front camera. This is a very unusual and technological solution, but you can't hope for high-quality selfies. The display does not have the highest image clarity at a resolution of 2480x1116 pixels, but it completely compensates for this drawback due to the fantastically responsive touch panel, perfectly calibrated color rendition, and minimal PWM effect. The maximum brightness of 1600 nits is enough to work with the gadget in direct sunlight, but still lags behind that of flagships.
The technical characteristics were the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, 12/16 GB of RAM, and the Adreno 750 video core. The performance of the bundle is still excellent today, because in the AnTuTu benchmark the processor reaches two million points, and thanks to the active cooling system, it was possible to avoid throttling and framerate drops even in Genshin Impact at the highest graphics settings. The battery capacity was 6000 mAh, which is slightly higher than the standard values. With such a battery, you can easily count on one and a half to two days of using the phablet. Fast wired charging received a power of 80W, unfortunately, there is still no wireless analogue.
The photo capabilities of the main 50-megapixel photo module from Omnivision with hybrid stabilization and a wide-angle lens of the same 50 MP are good, but nothing more. Problems with daytime shooting will pass by the buyer, but evening shots will sometimes be spoiled by some noise. Stereo sound is impressive. The volume goes over 90 decibels, bass is audible, the frequency response is relatively uniform. Contactless payments NFC, Android 15, 5G support complement the list of advantages of the device, which did not include only full moisture protection. As a result, we have an excellent gaming phone that justifies the money asked for it.
