ZTE Nubia Z50S Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
ZTE Nubia Z50S Overview
ZTE Nubia Z50S - an incredibly cheap sub-flagship
The Chinese company ZTE in its fate resembles another compatriot, namely the Huawei corporation. The once industry leader was also subject to sanctions by the US government, but the developer managed to remove them by paying multibillion-dollar fines. It is not surprising that for several years after this event the manufacturer could not create truly competitive smartphones. However, financial problems have now been resolved, and phones like the hero of today’s review are a real delight.
The appearance of the new product is completely identical to that of the previously released Z50, but this fact cannot be considered a disadvantage. A beautiful dual camera unit, a display smoothly flowing onto the metal side edge, an under-screen fingerprint scanner, stylish colors on the back panel made of tempered glass and an ergonomic body shape make the phablet look more expensive. The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen does not amaze with the detail of the picture at FullHD+ resolution, but it is ahead of its opponents in the smoothness of the content (144 Hz image refresh rate), the realism of its color rendition and the brightness margin.
Of course, the biggest surprise comes from the technical specifications. It was previously impossible to see a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, 12GB of RAM and an Adreno 740 video adapter in a relatively inexpensive gadget. Needless to say, all existing games function perfectly at maximum graphic presets, the Android 13 interface is amazingly responsive, and applications open in a matter of seconds. The chipset is also not deprived of energy efficiency, which, together with a 5000 mAh battery, indicates good autonomy. The search for an outlet will be carried out once every day and a half, and the mobile assistant will be charged from 0 to 100% in less than half an hour (fast wired charging with a power of 80W). The size of the permanent memory can be 256 or 512GB in UFS 4.0 format, so you won’t miss the slot for MicroSD cards.
The main photo modules were a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 with hybrid stabilization and a 50-megapixel wide-angle Samsung JN1 lens. Yes, it’s hard not to notice the absence of a telephoto lens; it was saved for an expensive flagship, but with these sensors the user will create hundreds of high-quality daytime and evening photos and videos without any hassle. Stereo sound is not the loudest in the world, but pleasant to the ear. NFC contactless payments are present, there is also support for 5G networks, and the release of a global version of the device is expected. Thus, before us is simply a future bestseller.
