ZTE S30 SE Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
ZTE S30 SE Overview
ZTE S30 SE is the secret of overpricing
The Chinese company ZTE is striving to regain its former positions in the smartphone market, but it is still too early to call this process successful. So, the advertising campaign of new products is weak in many regions, and along with interesting and sometimes even innovative phones (for example, Axon 20 with a sub-screen selfie camera), openly walk-through models are also being produced. The latter may well include the hero of today's review, because he does not correspond to the realities of the mid-high price segment.
The design of the device has become one of its strongest qualities. Even if the body is made of plastic that attracts scratches to itself, the block of three cameras is designed in an original and beautiful way, and the combination of a frameless screen and a convenient side fingerprint scanner will appeal to even sophisticated users. But the OGS display is not so impressive anymore. The 6.67-inch IPS panel is inferior to AMOLED counterparts in brightness and contrast, lacking an increased refresh rate. Of the positive aspects, it is possible to single out only a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels and an oleophobic coating, the effectiveness of which is far from the flagship one.
Specifications are also questionable. The MediatekDimensity700 processor is the youngest chip in the developer's newest line, so even with 8GB ofRAM and the Mali G57MC2 video adapter, you only have to rely on low-medium graphics presets in resource-intensive projects like Genshin Impact. On the other hand, the Android 11 interface and less demanding apps will function quickly without visible lags. The chipset deserves compliments for its modest heating and superior energy efficiency. It is easy to get up to 12 hours of active screen time from a capacious 6000mAh battery, which will make searches for the nearest outlet very rare. Internal memory is allocated 128GB , but there is no slot for microSD cards.
The capabilities of 48-, 5- and 2-megapixel cameras are close to being mediocre. With daytime shots, problems are unlikely to arise, the resulting frames will delight with both white balance and detail. But as soon as the lighting deteriorates, numerous noises appear. The list of advantages of the gadget is replenished with contactless NFC payments and a separate headphone output, but they have saved on stereo speakers important for millions of Android users. As a result, the device could be a real bestseller with a more reasonable price tag. Now he already has too many productive and technological opponents.
