Mid-price rugged smartphones have greatly advanced in functionality and performance over the past year. Perhaps the most noticeable changes are the use of fresh chipsets with 5G network support and updated photo modules. Unfortunately, the hero of today's review is devoid of such features and simply presents essentially last year's device in a new wrapper.

The appearance of the new product is really good for an inexpensive phone with water protection according to IP68 standards. The mesh texture of the back panel is beautiful and ergonomic, the camera block is originally combined with an additional round IPS panel (displaying time, notifications, photo assistance and other functions), a 32-megapixel selfie camera is located at the top of the display, there is a side fingerprint scanner. The main IPS-screen with a diagonal of more than 6 and a half inches received an optimal resolution of FullHD+, an actual 120-Hz refresh rate, and natural color rendition. But with peak brightness, everything is ambiguous, because 600 nits is not enough to see the content in the rays of the summer sun.

The technical characteristics are the already boring MediaTek Helio G96 CPU, 8 GB of RAM and the Mali G57-MC2 video adapter. The bundle scores almost 400 thousand AnTuTu points, which are still enough for the good performance of the Android 14 OS interface, but the situation with gaming capabilities is worse. Resource-intensive projects will often require lowering the graphic presets to a minimum. More modern processors like the Dimensity 7050 would improve the situation. But the issue of autonomy is solved thanks to a huge 10800 mAh battery. The battery lasts about three days of active use of the device, there is a fast charge, its power is 30W. The constant memory is 256 GB, expansion with MicroSD cards is possible.

The main 108-megapixel module from Samsung without optical stabilization is suitable for daytime photo shoots, but evening shots will not please with the same high detail and lack of artifacts. The 24-megapixel monochrome night vision sensor has a rather narrow focus and is more useful for hunting or fishing. There is no stereo sound, but one large-diameter speaker does not disappoint with its volume. NFC contactless payments, a gyroscope, LED camera illumination add to the list of advantages of the device, deprived of obvious disadvantages. However, the presence of more technological alternatives at a similar price tag makes you choose them.
