Apple iPhone 17 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Apple iPhone 17 Overview
Apple iPhone 17 – an updated classic
The American company Apple is far from the innovative corporation it was almost 20 years ago. However, users love the modern manufacturer not for its constant revolutions in the smartphone market, but for its stable software, excellent photo capabilities, well-designed ecosystem, and signature style. And today's review subject fits this description perfectly.
The new model's appearance is somewhat conservative, but still very pleasing to the eye. The durable metal frame, a variety of tempered glass back panel colors, the beloved brand logo, and the relatively thin display bezels look expensive and stylish. However, the dual selfie camera (an IR sensor for FaceID and an 18-megapixel front-facing camera) still takes up a significant portion of the 6.3-inch OLED panel. The screen quality is excellent. The 2622x1206 resolution is perfect for the screen size, the refresh rate is very smooth at 120 Hz, and the peak brightness of 3000 nits is sufficient for any phone use case. Color calibration is flawless.
The technical specifications include the latest A19 CPU and 8 GB of RAM. In synthetic benchmarks like AnTuTu, the processor lags behind the best Android chipsets, but thanks to iOS optimization and the chip's architecture, gaming apps run incredibly smoothly at any graphics settings. The frame rate, meanwhile, soars to over 100-120 frames per second. The 3692 mAh battery capacity might not seem promising, but in reality, it easily delivers up to 8-10 hours of active screen time. For such a battery, fast 40W wired charging and its 25W wireless counterpart are optimal. Internal storage is available in 256GB or 512GB.
Photography is represented by high-tech 48-megapixel modules (the main Sony IMX904 sensor with hybrid stabilization and the wide-angle IMX972 lens). They excel at both daytime and evening shots. The detail in photos and videos is comparable to that of camera phones, but a telephoto lens for capturing distant objects is lacking. Stereo sound is both loud and rich. 5G and NFC support, IP68 water resistance, and a reasonable price tag for the manufacturer will make this device a huge seller.
