OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra Overview
OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra – everything for gamers and more
The Chinese company OnePlus is known primarily for its "flagship killers" – smartphones that boast dazzling technology and near-maximum functionality for their type at a reasonable price. However, the manufacturer also often produces phones in the low- and mid-price segments, as well as devices with various focuses. Thus, the hero of today's review will definitely win the hearts of gaming enthusiasts.
The new device's appearance is quite clean and neat. The rounded edges of the glass and metal case mirror those of the dual-camera module, creating a stylish and premium look. The display bezels, which include a built-in fingerprint scanner, are thin, and the all-in-one device is also IP68 water-resistant. The nearly 7-inch AMOLED panel is decent, but standard for its class. The 2772x1272 resolution is optimal for the screen size, offers realistic color reproduction without any obvious errors, an oleophobic coating for comfortable use with the mobile assistant, and a respectable peak brightness of 3600 nits. What really stands out is the flagship 165Hz refresh rate.
The technical specifications are the device's main advantage. The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, 12/16GB of RAM, and Mali G1-Ultra MC12 GPU are among the most powerful combinations available today. The chipset effortlessly handles any task, whether it's running the Android 16 interface or resource-intensive games like Genshin Impact, Fortnite, or Honkai: Star Rail at the highest graphics presets with a frame rate of around 100-120 frames per second. But what's even more interesting is that the developer has introduced a special gamepad case with active cooling to transform the phablet into a true gaming console. The battery capacity has increased to 8600 mAh, so you won't have to worry about battery life. It lasts up to 12-15 hours of screen time. They skimped on wireless charging, but the wired charging power has been increased to 120W. Storage options include 256/512/1024 GB.
Photography capabilities are frankly mediocre. There's no telephoto lens; an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens can be found in similar devices at a third of the price. The main 50-megapixel sensor now features hybrid image stabilization, but it's nowhere near the level of camera phone sensors. Evening shots aren't lacking in detail, but noise and blur are also hard to miss. However, stereo sound is loud and rich. Other advantages include NFC contactless payments, 5G support, and an IR port for controlling home appliances. Other drawbacks include the lack of FDD-LTE B7 and a number of preinstalled apps and services for China. True, there's no global version yet. However, these shortcomings are unlikely to diminish the gaming device's appeal to its target audience.
