OnePlus Nord 6 Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
OnePlus Nord 6 Overview
OnePlus Nord 6 - Improvements and Deteriorations
Rising component prices and the overall global economic crisis are impacting all manufacturers. Chinese company OnePlus hasn't been left untouched. Today's review subject outperforms its predecessor in a number of areas, but some obvious downgrades are also evident.
The new device's appearance is not bad, in keeping with the developer's signature style, but it's still a bit dull. The familiar tempered glass case colors, the attractive yet rather standard camera design, and the thin, though not minimal, display bezels with an integrated fingerprint scanner leave an overall positive impression. However, the price tag didn't allow for a metal frame. The nearly 7-inch AMOLED panel is truly excellent. The 2772x1272 resolution is more than sufficient for crisp images, offering phenomenally smooth images at a refresh rate of 165 Hz, virtually no PWM, and very natural color reproduction.
The technical specifications aren't flagship-level, but they're still capable of satisfying even the most demanding gamers. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, coupled with 8GB/12GB of RAM and an Adreno 825 graphics card, surpasses the two million point mark in the AnTuTu benchmark and guarantees stable performance for all modern games. Furthermore, the all-in-one PC doesn't overheat or throttle. With maximum graphics presets in Genshin Impact or Zenless Zone Zero, users will see 60+ FPS without significant fluctuations, even in action-packed scenes. Meanwhile, the battery capacity has been increased to a staggering 9000 mAh (7500 mAh in some regional versions), allowing for up to 12-15 hours of screen-on time. Wireless charging is still missing from the phablet, but there's a wired alternative with a power output of 80W. Storage is limited to 256 GB. This is the first real drawback, given the lack of a microSD card slot.
Next comes the disappointment with the photography capabilities. There's no telephoto lens, the 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor is very basic, and the main 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 sensor, although equipped with hybrid stabilization, is still inadequate for the price segment. While daylight shots are overflowing with fine detail, evening lighting dramatically increases noise and blur in photos and videos. The stereo speakers are excellent: the sound is loud and rich. An IR port for controlling household appliances, IP68 water resistance, 5G and NFC support add to the device's considerable list of advantages, but buyers will have to accept several significant shortcomings.
