Realme C83 5G Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme C83 5G Overview
Realme C83 5G - A Battle of Opposites
The Chinese company Realme continues to develop its range of low-end smartphones, but quality has often become a commodity. Today's review subject has a number of obvious flaws that aren't easily masked by other advantages.
The new device's appearance is not bad, but rather standard for phones in this price range. Perhaps the most disappointing is the outdated design of the 5-megapixel selfie camera and the thick display bezels. For some reason, the device also lacks a fingerprint scanner. At least the plastic construction is high-quality, and the photo module assembly looks modern. The 6.8-inch IPS panel impresses with a flagship 144Hz refresh rate. It's a shame that other performance figures are modest. These words refer to the sharpness of the image at HD+ resolution, the peak brightness of 600 nits, and the naturalness of color reproduction. They pale in comparison to high-quality IPS and AMOLED displays.
The technical specifications include a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 CPU, 4GB/6GB of RAM, and a Mali G57MC2 GPU. This combination supports 5G networks, and the performance level is good for the phablet's price. However, it's important to note that these words refer to the version with the larger RAM. With this version, you can expect stable operation of Android 16 and the smooth running of many demanding games. However, be prepared to use the minimum settings and expect occasional lag. The 7000mAh battery minimizes any potential battery life issues. You can expect 12-15 hours of active screen time. But you'll also have to spend a lot of time near a power outlet due to the ridiculously low 15W wired charging. Storage options include 64GB or 128GB. I highly recommend the latter, which can be expanded with a MicroSD card.
In terms of photography, things are frankly poor. The main 13-megapixel module and 0.3-megapixel portrait sensor are only good for capturing documents without excessive blur. They're not up to the task of artistic photography. Even in daylight, photos are disappointing due to reduced detail, noise, and color rendition. Of course, the device lacks stereo speakers. But the developer also decided to skimp on NFC contactless payments. Ultimately, the device is only suitable for users who want a relatively powerful and long-lasting device for a minimal price, with numerous shortcomings in other areas.
