Realme GT 8 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme GT 8 Pro Overview
Realme GT8 Pro - An Expected Evolution
The Chinese company Realme is growing stronger every year, gradually stealing the audience from former market leaders. While most of the company's smartphones fall into the low- and mid-price segments, the manufacturer hasn't neglected its flagship models. Today's review subject improves on virtually every aspect of its predecessor and is ready to compete head-to-head with the most impressive high-end models.
The new model retains the design concept of the previous device in the line, but features thinner bezels. The familiar photo module array, the same color options for the glass or leather-styled back panels, the metal frame, and IP68 water resistance help the device look extremely modern. The 6.79-inch display's resolution has been increased to 3136x1440 pixels, which is both commendable (improved content clarity) and somewhat detrimental (reduced power efficiency). What buyers will definitely appreciate is the brightness exceeding 7000 nits, perfectly calibrated color reproduction, 144Hz refresh rate, and minimal PWM. Of course, there's also a built-in fingerprint scanner and an effective oleophobic coating.
The technical specifications include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, 12/16GB of RAM, and an Adreno 840 GPU. CPU performance is approximately 25% higher than that of the first generation, as evidenced by benchmark results (3,800,000 points in AnTuTu). Of course, this power is sufficient for both the proprietary RealmeUI interface (Android 15) and any game. Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Fortnite, and dozens of other resource-intensive titles boast frame rates of 100+ FPS at maximum graphics settings. The developer also generously invested in the battery, which now has a capacity of 7000 mAh. In 99% of cases, it's enough for a couple of days of use with the mobile assistant; wired (120W) and wireless (50W) charging are available. Storage options include 256/512/1024 GB of ROM; traditionally for flagships, there's no microSD card slot.
Photography capabilities lag slightly behind top camera phones. The main 50-megapixel Sony sensor with hybrid stabilization handles evening shots, but detail loss is still noticeable at times. The wide-angle module, still 50MP, is simpler, but the 200MP telephoto lens is much more sophisticated. The combination of OIS and EIS, along with 3x optical zoom, helps capture distant objects without artifacts. Stereo sound is loud, voluminous, and rich. Other highlights include an IR port, NFC contactless payments, and 5G support. Overall, this is a high-quality, modern phone with no apparent flaws.
