Realme GT 8 Pro Review: specs and features, camera quality test, gaming benchmark, user opinions and photos
Realme GT 8 Pro Overview
Realme GT8 Pro - an expected evolution
The Chinese company Realme is feeling better every year, gradually taking away the audience from the former market leaders. And although most of the smartphones sold by the corporation belong to the lower and middle price segments, the manufacturer does not forget about the flagship models. Thus, the hero of today's review improves literally every aspect of its predecessor and is ready to compete on equal terms with the most impressive representatives of the highest cost category.
The appearance of the new product has retained the design concept of the previous device in the line, but has supplemented it with thinner screen frames. The familiar block of photo modules, the preserved colors of glass or leather-styled rear panels, metal edging, moisture protection according to IP68 standards help the device look extremely relevant. The resolution of the 6.8-inch display has not been increased (2780x1264 pixels), which can be both criticized (still not a record-breaking clarity of content) and praised (increased energy efficiency). What the buyer will definitely like is the brightness reserve exceeding 6000 nits, perfectly calibrated color rendition, 120 Hz refresh rate and minimal PWM effect. Of course, there is also a built-in fingerprint scanner and an effective oleophobic coating. The technical characteristics include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, 12/16/24 GB of RAM and the Adreno 840 video core. CPU performance is about 25% higher than that of the first generation, as evidenced by the numbers in the benchmarks (3,800,000 points in the AnTuTu test). Of course, such power is enough for both the proprietary RealmeUI shell (Android 15) and any games. Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Fortnite and dozens of other resource-intensive projects amaze with a frame rate of 100 or more FPS at maximum graphics settings. The developer did not skimp on the battery, the capacity of which reached 7000 mAh. In 99% of cases, it is enough for a couple of days of work with a mobile assistant, there is wired (100 W) and wireless (50 W) charging. The permanent memory can be 256/512/1024 GB of ROM, there is no slot for MicroSD cards traditionally for flagships.
Photo capabilities are slightly behind the top camera phones. The main 50-megapixel sensor from Sony with hybrid stabilization copes with evening shooting, but sometimes the loss of detail is noticeable. The wide-angle module of the same 50 MP is simpler, but the 200-megapixel telephoto lens has become much more technologically advanced. The combination of OIS and EIS, three-fold optical zoom will help to capture distant objects without artifacts. Stereo sound is loud, voluminous, rich. Other advantages include an IR port, NFC contactless payments, and 5G support. Thus, we have a high-quality modern phone without any visible shortcomings.
